First Try on Lalapan @ Muara Restaurant, Miri

4-star2

DSC00744

Recommended by a friend, saying lalapan at Muara Restaurant is super nice. Lalapan is originated from Indonesia and having eight (Lapan) dishes: Main dish(depend what you order), cooked green leave vegetable, cabbaged, long bean, cucumber, fried tofu and tempeh, and with some spicy sambal sauce at the middle, served with rice. The restaurant is located at Waterfront Commercial Center, behind UOB and CIMB area.

After trying it, what I can say is NICE ~~… I personally like the fried tofu and tempeh, and of course the main dish as well (chicken and fish), but really unable to accept the sauce because I don’t really eat sambal. Strongly recommend especially for those who never try lalapan before.

Yulee Wantan Mee @ Piasau, Miri

DSC00879

One of my favourite dining place, Yulee Wantan Mee. To me, this is the best wantan mee restaurant that I have ever eat in Miri, highly recommended.
DSC00880
The restaurant is clean and tidy, especially at the place of cooking. The owner cooking in her own “systematic” way, although a bit slow and need to wait for quite long during the peak hour, but to me is worth to wait.

Tea Time @ Old Town White Coffee, Miri

2-star2

Waiting for Boulevard Shopping Complex to open, we went to Old Town White Coffee to have some tea. Seeing the menu, wao, look nice. So, thought to give a try on its breakfast set, here it is:

Mee Siam Classic (Set 3)

Comparing with the photo in the menu, very obviously was much much lesser and my very first impression was “Oh my, big plate with few bite of meehun”

Kaya Butter with soft boiled eggs (Set 2)

Bread is a bit small as well.

The foods are ok, just with the standard coffee shop price I think the foods look like a bit little.

Fish and Chips
Personally felt disappointed as the fish seems being over fried that lost its own freshness.

Chicken Burger served with Chips
Quite delicious and the portion was quite “high” that I had to eat its ingredients “separately”.

Yong Chow Fried Rice RM 8
I personally like this a lot as it smell good, taste good with some big prawns, 2 big crackers and chicken cha siew, inexpensive (one of the lowest price meal in the menu) and quite large plate or rice that may enough for 2 ladies, but felt greasy at the end.

TeoChew Porridge
Never try TeoChew Porridge before this, seems quite special with so many ingredients

Fried Meehon and noodle with seafood, and specially requested fried egg on top with extra charges, of course.

Environment,of course inside a hotel, definitely the environment and renovation is much better than outside restaurants, just sorry to say that been found some dirty food residues left on fork and cup, seems itchy to me. About services, maybe need some improvement as well.
