Annie’s Little Kitchen @ Miri

DSC00013

Annie’s Little Kitchen, located behind the Miri City Food Court, to me is a sweet little restaurant, as you see its decorations inside the restaurant, you will know the owner has pay lots of efforts and times in decorating and creating comfortable environment for customers. The restaurant is assessed as grade “A” for its cleanliness by the Miri City Council, which mean excellent, so you should rest assured to have your meal here.

You can refer to the photos on the wall, to stimulate your appetite before you decide what to order.

The choices are varies, Chinese, Malay, Western, Thailand style, etc. But the price may little higher.

Fish and Lamp served with rice RM 18

This price is reasonable, as usually it cost more than RM10 in other restaurant, simply a slice of lamp chop.

Another view on Fish and Lamp with rice, closer look on the fried fish.

Lamp itself has a strong smell, some may feel uncomfortable to it. But the lamp meat is soft and ease to chew, not too dry in another word. The fried fish quite nice with the sauce.

Stew beef with pasta RM 13

Closer look on the stew beef. You may choose to served with rice or pasta, but is recommended to have pasta, as it really taste good with stew beef. The beef was soft and its sauce was yummy, you can have more bowl of rice simply with the sauce itself.

Overall, it’s foods are really nice and its has lots of choices, the restaurant itself is clean and nice with the decorations, just that the price may little bit high, so some people like me may not afford to go there frequently. Howsoever, there are still lots of choices I haven’t try and I am sure I will visit there again to try on others meals.

Double Star Restaurant

4-star2
I have been there for few times, and I do like this restaurant not just because of the tasty of the foods, but also the warm atmosphere. The first impression on this restaurant is a restaurant that quite similar as those young café restaurants KL which I miss so much in Miri.
The decoration of this restaurant is simple but comfortable. What I mean for the warm atmosphere? Is because of the warm smile and politeness of the waitress; they would not show impatience when I keep flip over the menu but still do not know what to order, but will recommend some choices for me and even walk towards and turn their menu board to my seat, just to let me see clearly what are their today’s special. It has variety of foods: from Chinese chicken rice, to Western style toast and even Thai's Tomyam soup noodle. One more thing, they charge at a reasonable price, a price which I consider as cheap in a café restaurant.

This time, we had ordered two rice meals for our dinner: Spareribs with bitter gourd rice and Fish steak rice.  For drinks, we had ordered Grassjelly and a cup of hot green tea. The grassjelly was too icy, too much ice in it.

My favourite --- Beef with Egg Rice ~YUMMY~

Extra order: Steam Salmon with tofu (bean curb)
All the meals are served with soup, and soup of the day is dehydrated Chinese cabbage (干白菜汤), my favourite.
Everything seems good in Double Star, but one thing to say is maybe they should update or change their menu book because it has started peeling and flaking.
